About Game Rewind UK
A small nostalgia “time machine” built around gaming and UK culture.
What it does
Search for a game (or browse by date/console) and Game Rewind UK shows what else was happening in the same month and year:
- Games released in the UK
- Films in UK cinemas
- What was available to rent
- Top 40 Singles that month
- What wrestling event was happening that month (because wrestling and nostalgia just go hand in hand for me)
Where the data comes from
The app loads its data from a Google Sheet. That means updates to the sheet appear in the app automatically. The majority of the data has been sourced by myself due to the UK's apparent bad practice at recording release dates.
How to use it
- Search: start typing a game title and pick from suggestions.
- Browse by date: choose a month + year and see all games from that release window.
- Browse by console: pick a console and view games A–Z.
- Multiple versions: if a game appears on more than one console, you’ll be asked to choose the one you meant.
Notes
This is a personal project. Some months may have incomplete data, and titles may vary depending on how they’re written in the database. I have tried to be as true and accurate as I can be.
